Rally Tripmeter Privacy Policy

Effective 5 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data the Rally Tripmeter app for Android and iOS, and its live map at racelivemap.com, collect, why, who processes it, how long it is kept and what rights you have.

Who we are

Rally Tripmeter is published by AppHero OÜ, a company registered in Estonia, which is the data controller for the data described here. Contact us about privacy at siim@apphero.ee.

Summary

What we collect and why

Your account

The app creates an anonymous account the first time it starts, so your data can be stored before you sign in. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email address and, if your provider shares it, your name. Each account has a user ID. We use these to keep your data in your account and to link your purchases to it.

Location

Rally Tripmeter is a trip meter: it needs your phone's precise location (GPS) while a drive is measured, including in the background while the screen is off. Location is stored in your account when you:

Live tracking is off by default. When you turn it on, your current position, speed, heading and altitude, with the optional tag you choose, are sent while you drive and shown to anyone viewing the live map at racelivemap.com. Only your last position is kept; it is replaced as you move.

Recce recordings and pacenotes

When you record a recce, the app records GPS together with the phone's motion sensors (gyroscope, accelerometer) to work out corners and crests. The recording, the pacenotes made from it and the name you give it are backed up to your account.

If you choose to film the recce, the camera and microphone record a video that is saved to your phone's photo library. Videos are not uploaded to us.

Things you create and share

Names of stages, routes and recordings, and your edits to pacenotes, are stored in your account. When you share a route or a stage, anyone who has its share code can view it until you stop sharing it.

Purchases

Subscriptions and licences are bought through Google Play or the App Store; we never see your payment card. We receive the purchase history of your account (what you bought and when) through RevenueCat, together with your user ID and email address, to unlock what you paid for on every device.

App usage, crashes and device identifiers

We collect usage statistics (which screens and features are used) with Google Analytics for Firebase, and crash reports and diagnostics (device model, OS version, app version, the state of the app when it crashed) with Firebase Crashlytics, to find and fix problems. These use an app-installation identifier and, on Android, the device's advertising ID. They are not used for advertising and are not linked to your name or email address.

Bluetooth buttons

To pair a Rally Tripmeter Bluetooth button the app scans for nearby Bluetooth devices. The scan does not determine your location, and nothing about other devices is stored or sent.

What we do not collect

We do not collect your contacts, messages, photos, files, browsing history or health data. Spoken pacenote calls are produced on the phone by its text-to-speech engine.
